Sofia Tchernetski presents A Celebration of Human Spirit

Event: A Celebration of the Human Spirit

Sofia Tchernet-ski - Life of Elle Calgary

Friends and fans gathered together merrily to enjoy good food, a silent auction, inspiring speeches, and fun music at the fundraiser for Sofia Tchernet-ski and her dream of becoming a Canadian Olympian.

Eggs Oasis Crowfoot sponsored the venue for  A Celebration of the Human Spirit and donated a portion of the food sales of the night to Sofia. In addition, the servers that night volunteered their time!


The event patrons had a chance to participate in a silent auction filled with prized goodies, ranging form apparel accessories to sound systems, with all proceeds going to support Sofia’s Olympian dream.

Mrs. Jamaica Globe, Tia Green, made a special appearance at the event to show her support. Although she was not able to attend the event, Mrs. Calgary – TJ Anderson sent a letter of admiration and support.

The night ended off with singing performances from Sofia and her teacher, Kate Lauchlan.A Celebration of the Human Spirit - Life of Elle Calgary

Shawnee Harle - A Celebration of the Human Spirit - Life of Elle Calgary

Shawnee Harle is the only basketball coach in Canada that has achieved National Coaching Certification Program Level V and currently serves as the Director of Coaching Development and Technical Director of Basketball Alberta. She says, “Just because you want it doesn’t mean you get to have it … Winners don’t spend a lot of time thinking and dreaming …they take action and make sacrifices “.

Jon McMurray - A Celebration of the Human Spirit - Life of Elle Calgary

Jon McMurray AKA McFee LCP, has fused his incredible skills in free-skiing and stunts into his career as a performer. He believes that “the happiest, most fulfilled people are the people pursuing their passion … When you have a fulfilled person living their purpose, you have this infectious personality that’s going around making other people happy and blessing the whole world”. Kyle Nissen - A Celebration of the Human Spirit - Life of Elle Calgary

Kyle Nissen started freestyle skiing when he was nine years old and has become a World Cup Champion and a two time Olympian. One of his biggest lessons was to never leave things up to chance. “You just have to keep working harder and harder and harder.”
