A Geeky Video

Shaun Nanan, instructor at the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST) sends us another video for our geeky fans on Robotics!

The video features the works of the fifth semester students of SIAST.

The most interesting project is B.R.A.D.. I like the idea of an entertaining and educational robotics project, but I have an issue with the execution. The head is damn freaking and looks like something from a fun house horror movie. His eyes freak me out soooooo much …

If the head was overly enlarged to take away that almost life like feel, then B.R.A.D would be a little more kid friendly.

I also enjoyed the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. It looks crazy dangerous – the propellers rotate at an insane speed – but it looks more useful than remote controlled grounded devices. The point of view of an aerial vehicle captures more activity in a scene than an ROV with a camera.
