Event Review: Le Belle Arti
The grand opening of Le Belle Arti‘s second furniture showroom in Calgary was classy, modern, and full of Couture!
There was live music and appetizers for all the guests to enjoy! The appetizers were provided by Fresh Kitchen. The food was definitely fresh and I would recommend them to anybody that wants to hold events! Good call, Le Belle Arti!
As an interior designer, it’s always a pleasure to be surrounded by beautiful interior décor and furniture.
The showroom design was a loft style concept with two floors of white interiors to best showcase the products. Each section was presented as its own living space.
While Sandy, our Junior Beauty Editor, was enjoying the yummy appetizers and refreshments, I had the opportunity to meet and talk to the man behind Le Belle Arti, Orlando Milite.
Orlando has been in the furniture business for more than 35 years! He has traveled all over Europe to discover some of the world’s biggest modern furniture designers and has brought them back to Canada.
Le Belle Arti carries Europe’s largest manufacturers of modern furniture, lighting, kitchen and accessories. Some of their designers are B&B Italia, Maxalto, Cassina, Flexform, Minotti, Zanotta, MDF, Ingo Maurer, Ligne Roset, Fontana Arte, Studio Italia, Luceplan, Kasthall, Kymo, Carl Hansen and Son, Herman Miller, Adelta, Snaidero Kitchen, and more.
Among many of the great furniture designers, my favorite ones were Ligne Roset, Fiam, and Henzal Art & Design! I always have a hard time pronouncing Ligne Roset, a French design company. Trust me – it’s hard for an East Indian person to say anything in French!

Orlando introduced me to a Ligne Roset classic – Togo. I call it Couture Furniture. This design has been in the market since 1973 and has continued to stay popular. The use of textured fabrics, details, and the design concept are just amazing. The Togo cover is double-stitched and the tremendous amount of quilting used provides ultimate comfort.
This year Ligne Roset introduces the love seat chaise of Togo. The printed fabrics used on the Togo sofa are only in production for a certain period of time – they are limited edition. Unless the fabrics are standard colors, Ligne Roset changes up their fabrics – so once you miss it, you won’t see it again!
Guess what? They have mini Togos just for kids – absolutely adorable!

|Next: the Ligne Roset wall unit – Shelving Art!You can make 1 000 different configurations with different heights and layouts.
Also, there is almost 1 000 different color combination to match your existing color palette of your room. FUN!
The best thing is that you can purchase the shelving units individually.
That way, if you have a small space or a large space, you can create and order pieces accordingly.

My second favorite designer was Fiam Italia – the art of glass furniture. “Fiam is the only company in the world that designs and creates furniture made entirely out of glass,” says Orlando. I was amazed by the design and the level of research incorporated to understand the culture of glass.
Fiam makes anything from tables, desks, glass table lamps, glass chairs, and more.
Henzel Art & Design
The next piece that I wanted to share with you is this gorgeous area rug. Yes, I was fooled into thinking that it was a painting, but actually it is an area rug designed by Calle Henzel of Henzal Art & Design.
This designer has taken his passion of art and experimented with it as a textile medium. Henzel designs are limited edition and only 9 pieces are manufactured from silk and New Zealand or Himalayan wool.
Why use this particular type of wool?
It is the cleanest wool in the world, which means it can be dyed to achieve the largest range in colors from pure white to pastels to bright striking colors.
“We will be placing a sign over the carpet and mentioning: Too good to be on the floor”, say Orlando.
All area rugs are hand-knotted or hand tufted depending on the design. This particular piece is known as New York & Milano and it is hand tufted with New Zealand wool.
I’m totally in love with Henzel Designs – one day I’m hoping to own one of his pieces!
If you are looking for top European designer modern furniture, Le Belle Arti is the place and you can be rest assured that you will be taken care of by the best and very knowledgeable staff and team.
